AT&T surprises with beachfront 700MHz spectrum purchase

AT&T announced today that it has purchased 12MHz of spectrum in the prime 700MHz spectrum band from privately-held Aloha Partners for close to $2.5 billion. Aloha purchased the spectrum in Federal Communications Commission auctions held during 2001 and 2003, but hasn’t done much with the licenses since the auctions ended.

One developer familiar with the matter, who asked to remain anonymous, said Apple representatives have been tracking down authors of Web-based iPhone apps and asking them to submit official screenshots, icons, web addresses and descriptions of their applications to the company.

iPhone WebApps Appearing on Apple’s Downloads Feed?

It looks like Apple is gearing up to put the iPhone Applications built with he Web 2.0 “SDK” on their software downloads page. Thanks to a commenter, we found them in Apple’s “recent downloads RSS feed”. However, when you click on the link you end up at a unused page at Apple.
